Tim mentioned Byway Map  ( http://bywaymap.com/index.html ).

Seems a great way to build routes for non-TRF folk. Want to clarify the meaning of the 3 classifications (red, amber, green) on the map.

Green - BOAT Byway Open to All Traffic is obvious

Red - Restricted byway, presumably a no go

Amber - Byway (BOAT/RB) is that a go or a go go?

Help pls

I would join TRF if it was so frigging difficult! 

Tried to register online and its not working correctly? Tells me to enter a 'capcha phrase' (where you copy some letters/numbers to prove your a real person) but it doesn't display anything... 

If only I had a brain. Or some patience.

Nearly all the ones marked in Devon are green anyway except those up north Devon.

Your original thought about those marked in red was correct. They are byways but restricted access as in bicycle and horse no motorised transport.

If you have a TRF membership you can compare out of Devon routes you do not have onto trailwise. You can use Trailwise anyhow without membership for reference but you get more access if you are a member and downloads.
